Quiz: Where To Stay in Rome Based On Your Personality

I can’t tell you how satisfying it was to create this personality quiz, allowing me to reevaluate the city’s loveliest areas.

The quiz will help you determine where to stay in Rome based on your personality.

Here it is, and it’s completely free:

Where to Stay in Rome Based on Your Personality

The most important decision to make as you plan your trip to Rome is where to choose your accommodation.

Most first-time travelers to Rome will look for a hotel or BnB near the Colosseum or within walking distance of major attractions.

I totally understand this decision, but I would focus on different factors instead.

Rome is not just its monuments. Soon after setting foot in the city, you will know that the perfect journey of discovery in Rome needs much more.

You’ll want to know where to go to unearth the best gelato and street food, where to shop, and where to spend a pleasant evening.

In short, you need a landmark neighborhood that can give you everything you’re looking for in just a few square miles. And some unusual or original activities.

There are a few neighborhoods you should know about

When we locals talk about the historic center of Rome, we refer to a quaintly large area of about 20 square kilometers.

Several neighborhoods, which we call rioni, belong to the historic center, with 22 of them.

In the quiz I created, I considered the four most beautiful neighborhoods in the historic center, plus one just outside the historic center that deserves attention.

I don’t want to reveal which ones they are, because that’s part of the personality quiz; you’ll have to find out for yourself by going through the questions.

I have thoroughly explored these areas, and they are the ones I like to walk through the most when I leave the Roman countryside to take a walk in the historic center.

If you’re looking for the best place to stay, consider:

Budget is definitely an important factor for many travelers. I won’t hide the fact that staying in the center of Rome is expensive, even if you choose a hotel without too many frills.

In this regard, if you want to save money, I recommend traveling during the low season, from November to April.

To save as much as possible, you could choose to stay in peripheral areas, as long as they are served by the subway.

Even in areas outside the historic center, you’ll find hidden gems. I myself was born in the suburbs, in the Monte Mario district, from which you can reach the center with about a 45-minute bus ride.

Sure, the architecture of the suburbs leaves something to be desired, but here you still find street food, small cafes, and many opportunities to experience the most authentic local culture.

Another fact to consider is that some areas of the historic center are very noisy, due to the presence of venues and traffic.

Reviews of the facilities can help in this regard, which you should read carefully before booking.

So, go through the quiz and let me know what you think!
